Stand for election as a Governor and help to shape local health services

Governor elections 2018

Dorset HealthCare is holding elections to its Council of Governors in July. There are four seats up for grabs to members of the public – one representing Bournemouth, one representing Poole, and two representing the Dorset and Rest of England constituency. A further two seats are open to Dorset HealthCare members of staff.

Become a governor and make your voice heard

We are looking for people who are passionate about healthcare to help us develop services that meet the needs of the communities we serve.

As an elected governor, you will represent the views of local people and work with us to shape how services are delivered in your area. You will hold the Board of Directors to account, raise concerns, inform decision making and help set our priorities. You will also be an ambassador for Dorset HealthCare, promoting our services in your community. The work of a governor will enable you to play a key role in the Trust’s future development.

What do I need to do?

We are looking for people from all walks of life. You don’t need any special experience; just enthusiasm, time and a genuine interest in the work of the Trust. However, you must be aged 11 or over, live within the constituency you represent and be a member of Dorset HealthCare. Joining the Trust as a member is free, quick and easy – do it now.
