Join the ‘evolution’ and book your place now!

On Wednesday, 13 September, we are holding a day of events to celebrate achievements and good work across Dorset HealthCare – and we want you to be there.

All members of the public are welcome to attend our 2017 Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM) and Heroes Awards event at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

You can come for the whole day or pick the events you are interested in. However, space is limited, so book your place now.

Our theme this year is evolution, reflecting the changing nature of healthcare services in Dorset, with a special focus is on children and young people’s mental health.

The packed agenda includes:

  • A keynote speech by TV psychologist Prof. Tanya Byron – a respected clinical psychologist, radio presenter and author, Prof Byron co-hosted BBC-TV’s The House of the Tiny Tearaways with Claudia Winkleman. She also authored the Byron Review, commissioned by then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown, exploring the effects of the internet and video games on children.
  • Buffet, refreshments and live music – including a performance by members of the Dorset HealthCare Choir.
  • The 2017 Dragons’ Den final – shortlisted staff will once again be pitching a batch of innovative ideas to improve the way we work, hoping to impress a panel of ‘dragons’ and earn funding to make their plan a reality
  • Heroes Awards 2017 – spotlighting some of the staff who have gone the extra mile for patients over the past year. There are 35 finalists across 13 categories.
  • The Annual Members' Meeting – including a look back over the past year by Chief Executive Ron Shields and Lead Governor Chris Balfe, plus feedback from a young people’s workshop run on the day by Healthwatch Dorset: check out the AMM Agenda!

Local carers and Trust volunteers are also invited to a celebration lunch at midday. The rest of the events kick off at 2pm, running through until the evening.

You don’t have to come for the whole day if you have other commitments. However, please us know which events you’d like to attend by using the booking form below or calling us on 01202 277085.

It promises to be a great day – see you there!
